Profile:

A young charismatic mare with definite maternal quality and a heritage of Arabian elite, Cesena promises to be a stellar performer in the breeding barn. Exuding Arabian type, she ideally exemplifies the hallmarks of the breed with spontaneous enthusiastic tail carriage, a strong level topline with a short muscular back and loin, a lean, elegantly shaped and highly placed neck and a perfectly proportioned head – broad between large dark eyes, deep and round in the jowl, refined and tapering through the muzzle, well placed neatly shaped ears and a noble confident presence. Cesena’s dam CELTA has proven herself a consistent producer of quality foals as a leading daughter of German National Champion PASAT, who along with PARTNER, PAMIR, PARYS & POLONEZ is one of the five international champion sons and sires out of the legendary Tersk-bred broodmatron PARMA, who left the breed 21 foals over her remarkable career. CELTA’s dam CELNA, for many years one of the most admired and celebrated broodmares in Poland, placing high in the most acclaimed senior mares’ classes at the Polish Nationals, was a premier daughter of Dutch Champion Stallion ALEGRO, in turn the son of breed legends PROBAT & ALGERIA, nicknamed „the Million Dollar Mare” for the high amounts her numerous quality progeny brought in. Even today ALGERIA is considered the best source of classic Kuhailan type, with Polish National Champions AMRA & ALBULA, Junior Spring Show Champions ALGERINA & ALBULA, Polish National Reserve Champions ALMERIA & ASLAN, chief sires ALKAZAR & ALGIERCZYK and high-sellers AMBA, ALTONA, ALEGORIA & AMRA. True to her heritage, CELNA has been a prolific producer of typically beautiful and capably athletic foals such as Arabian Produce – Janów Podlaski St. & Kabaret St. winner CALDERON, Autumn Show Champion Filly CENOZA & Polish Nationals class winner CEFEIDA. In Cesena the “C” damline abounding in superbly producing mares has been teamed up with the chestnut, high-trotting twice US Top Ten Stallion and Scottsdale Arabian Reserve Champion English Pleasure Junior Horse METROPOLIS NA, the American sire boasting a triplefold link to the Janów Podlaski-bred pillar broodmatron MAMMONA – through his damline, dam’s sire MUSCAT and grandsire MONOGRAMM, the latter which has left a lasting presence in the Polish breeding program with a group of exquisite Michałów broodmares. METROPOLIS generously stamps his get with dynamic, high leg action movement, as seen in Spring Show Reserve Champion Colt BOREAS, Spring Show class winner CEFEIDA and Spring Show class Top Five finalists – CELINA, WATRA, AMULET, EKIER & PASMEN. The broodmares of Cesena’s damline are consistent sources of authentic Arabian beauty and versatile athletic ability. Breeders looking for a young quality broodmare need look no further, as Cesena represents a unique opportunity to start at the top with the best of the Polish breeding program.
