Already regarded as a “maker of champions” abroad, GAZAL confir­med this acclaim in Poland, consistently siring exquisite sons and daughters out of different broodmares, an elite collection which includes PINGA, PIETA, ETNOLOGIA, PEROLIA, WKRA, NORMA, PISTORIA, WILDA, PASSIONARIA, BELGICA, EJRENE, EQUIFOR, PEGASUS, ERYKS, DRABANT, EL AZEM, PIZARRO, PORTO, HUN, GEORGETOWN, ALABAMA, LISSAR, PIBA and the “Grand Two” –  World, European, All Nations Cup, US & Polish National Champions PIANISSIMA & EMANDORIA. With that GAZAL AL SHAQAB joins the group of such influential import sires as PALAS, PROBAT & MONO­GRAMM before him, whose impact on Polish breeding cannot be overestimated.

Maternally Ekumena is the daughter of EDREADA, a regally bred mare bearing a classically pure Janów Podlaski pedigree in the shape of Polish National Champions ARARAT & EQUITANA. A direct descendant of the most influential Saklavi strains (NAZEER-ASWAN-PALAS and SKOWRONEK-NASEEM-NEGATIW-BANDOS), ARARAT is moreover the son of the “bold and beautiful” ARRA – a European & Polish National Champion and Triple Crown winner from the race track. Whereas EQUITANA, who has further contributed to the breed with international champions EKWIPUNEK & EQUIFOR and stake winners EMPALA, ELMEN, EQVIDA & EQUILIN, is out of the har­monious and refined cornerstone broodmare ETNA. As ETNA lived in an era preceding the evaluation of horses at shows, she has no championship titles to her name. However, her produce speak for her instead: champion chief sires ETAN, ETIW, ETERNIT & ETAP and prized daughters – EQUITANA & ETRURIA. The latter, a recipient of the titles of Polish National & World Champion, European Reserve Champion, as well as the WAHO Trophy, has further secured the legacy of her family as dam and grandam of champion sires ETMAN, ECAHO, ETOGRAM, ESCULAP, ESPADERO & EKSPORT and South African multi achiever ERIA.
