A sister to as many as two Junior Spring Show Champion/Best in Show (including one Polish National) stallions and four chief sires (with a fifth one in the making), at the same time representing Janów Podlaski’s cherished bloodline of PIEWICA through both sire and dam, Pepina is a serious contender for the title of “best buy” in 2012 Pride of Poland collection.

Pepina’s dam is PĘTLA, one of Janów’s most proven and remarkable broodmares, tracing to PIEWICA through the latter’s Polish National Reserve Champion daughter PENTODA. PĘTLA has made a name for herself as a producer of masculine, correctly built sires, greatly valued by breeders both from within and outside the Arabian equine community. This group includes superb racing athletes PENTAGRAM, POLIGON & PEDAGOG, all utilized in sports-oriented breeding and stars of the show arena: Junior Spring Show Champion Stallion/Best in Show & Autumn Senior Top Five PRADO, currently a chief sire at Janów Podlaski and the youngest brother, Junior Spring Show Champion Stallion/Best in Show & Polish National Junior Champion Stallion POGROM, who is also destined to join the chief sire collection when he comes of age.

Pepina is continuing the tradition of “good producer”, but has placed her bets on female offspring instead. So far she has delivered the charming PENTA (a class Top Three & Top Five honoree from the Junior Spring Show in Białka, both times in “classes of death” facing PARMANA, WIEŻA RÓŻ & EL PIATZOLLA) & the lovely PIETRA (an Autumn Show class Top Three finalist and a Polish Nationals class Top Five also amidst serious competition of ZIGI ZANA, PRIMERA, PALATINA & WARANGA).

In fact both ladies come from a line broodmares that have delivered nothing but the best, generation after generation. PĘTLA’s granddam PESTKA has gifted the breed with PEPESZA (dam of POLIFONIA, PERSEUSZ, PEGASUS & PEPITA), POHULANKA (dam of POGANIN), PSYCHE (dam of PORTO).

Pepina’s sire PILOT, Polish National, UK National & Blommeröd Champion, traces to PIEWICA via another of the latter’s daughters, PIERZGA, who wrote herself down in the history of the breed as granddam to multi champions PIRUET & PIECHUR and most importantly as dam of the ethereal PILARKA. PILARKA’s branch of the family is responsible for some of the hottest names of the lasts decade, such as PALMETA, PALABRA, PALATINA, PILAR, PIETA, PINGA, PINTA, PIAFF & the queen herself, PIANISSIMA.
